SAME-SEX MARRIAGE

MAIN IDEA

   The main idea in this article is the legalization of Same-Sex Marriage. Recently in Britain, gay marriage was legalized. This means that everyone has the right to get married to whomever they want.

SUMMARY

   In the article it states that Gay and Lesbian couples have waited decades to get married. It also states that people had to petition for this to be legalized. Two thirds of the people who voted said that it should be legalized, and the support is mostly among the younger people who voted. The Pride flag was raised above the British Cabinet Offices. That marked the first day of the legalization.

CHARACTERS

   On the picture on the right, it shows Peter McGraith and David Cabreza. They have been a couple for over 15 years. This is a picture of them smiling at their wedding at Islington Town Hall.

   Another picture on the right shows Andrew Wale and Neil Allard posing at their hotel after the first Same-sex marriage in Brighton.

   The British public are also a group of characters, it says that two thirds of them support same-sex marriage and that most of those people are the younger citizens.

BEST PART

   The best part of this article is how the British Government did the right thing. Despite all the people whom were against it. The British people decided to do what is best for the people. The definition of marriage has changed, it isn't a man and a women who love each other. It has now to expanded and rightfully so to be any two people who love each other.

WORST PART

   The worst part is how long it took for Britain to do this. Canada did it nine years ago, yet the British Government decided to only do it now. Another thing is that how some parts of the world will never have the basic rights.

OPINION

   In my opinion, this should have been legalized along time ago. I don't care if you are a believer or and atheist, just don't be an ass about it. Rights are rights, whether you like them or not.

RATING OUT OF TEN

   Although I do believe that everyone everywhere should have the right to be married to whom ever they want, it just annoys me at how long it took for this to happen, but because it finally did, I believe this article deserves a 10/10.

  

AVATAR PAINTBALL

SUMMARY

    Avatar Paintball is an Xbox 360 arcade game. Made in 2010, this game features a 3D world, practice mode, online mode, controls and top players. The maximum amount of players allowed in one game is 16 and the minimum is 2. In Avatar Paintball you play as you avatar in a third person view. The game is made by DigitalDNA. The game also features a shop where you can buy more guns.

BEST PART

   In my opinion the best part in Avatar paintball is the graphics and price. While it does only cost $1, it has decent graphics and most of the time you will always have someone to play with. Another upside about the game is when ever you get shot, you don't have to wait 30 seconds just to re spawn. For the most part this game if fast paced.

WORST PART

   Like I said in the best part, the graphics are decent. Though there are a few things that would decrease the overall game's rating. For example, some of the fences are only a pixel thick, so from the right angel you can't see them. Another example is that some of the shrubbery looks great from afar, but up close it is very poorly designed and some of the shrubbery does look out of place.

OPINION

   With this game, the developers have included power ups like teleporters and super speed ect. I feel that this adds to the excitement of the game. As an overall rating i would give this game a 6.5/10

THE NAKED GUN

SUMMARY

   When Lieutenant Frank Drebin discoverers that Vincent Ludwig is planning on assassinating the Queen, He has to convince the mayor to believe him. Ludwig plans on assassinating the Queen using his newly developed brainwashing device.

MAIN CHARACTERS

   The main character Lt. Frank Drebin is played by Leslie Nielsen. Frank isn't the brightest character although he does eventually solve the crime. Leslie Nielsen was born in February 11th 1926. He was raised in the Northwest Territories.

   Jane Spencer is Franks lover in the movie. Jane Spencer is played by Priscilla Presley. Priscilla was born on May 24th 1945 in Brooklyn, New York. She met Elvis in 1959.

   Vincent Ludwig was played by Ricardo Montalban. In the movie Ludwig is the bad guy who plans to assassinate the queen. Ricardo was born the 25th of November, 1920.

BEST PART

   For me the best park was at the beginning of the movie when Nordberg attempts to kick a door open, he then get shot 6 time, steps on a bear trap and burns his hand. After all that, he ends up in the hospital on life support. Later Ed says "they say there is a 50/50 chance he will live, but there is only a 10% chance of that."

WORST PART

   In my opinion, the worst part of this movie was the ending. All that happens was he gets the girl and the bad guy is gone. Nothing really interesting happens here. The early ending was good, like how he impersonates an umpire and Enrico Pallazo.

OPINION

   While this movie did have its goods and bads. I believe it deserves a 7.5. It is a very funny movie, its just sometimes I wish he wasn't so stupid.

The Warriors

Summary

  The movie "The Warriors", is about the most powerful gang leader in all of New York City. Cyrus, The leader of the Gramercy Riffs, calls together all the gangs in new york to try and create a peace treaty. Cyrus ends up getting shot by a rival gang of the warriors. The rival gang then blames the murder on the Warriors. The Warriors then have to fight there way back to Coney Island (their "hood").

Main Characters

  Micheal Beck in the movie plays the character "Swan". Swan was picked up by the warriors in 1978 by Cleon and Vermin. He possesses strong leadership and fighting skills and later becomes the warlord, leader of the warriors.

  Ajax, played by James Remar, also join the gang in 1978. Ajax is named after the Greek hero, is extremely good with his fists and very strong, but not very smart.

  In the movie, Cleon is played by Dorsey Wright. Cleon is one of the founders of the Warriors. Prior to Swan, Cleon was the warlord.\

  Snow is played by Brian Tyler. Snow rarely speaks, but when he does he normally says something meaningful or wise.

  Cochise is played by David Harris. Cochise is a good fighter and joined the Warriors is 1978.

  Rembrant is played by Marcelino Sanchez. Rembrant is the youngest of all the warriors and is mainly brought along to only tag places the gang has been. He is named after the dutch painter.

Best Part

  In my opinion, the best part of the movie is when they fight the punks gang. They are the gang that roller skates everywhere. They fight is the subway station bathroom. At first is is only swan, but the rest of the gang shows up and signals to draw the punks into the bathroom where they then jump them.

Worst Part

  The worst part of the movie is probably fact that half the gang dies on the was to Conet Island, even though it adds more drama to the story, I feel like even though the made it to Coney Island, It still feels like they lost. 

Opinion

  For the opinion part of this review, I feel like the movie deserves a 9/10. All the fight scenes were very well done and the acting is mostly well done. I highly enjoyed this movie and is very well done for its time.

Garry's Mod

Summary

 Garry's Mod is a physics sandbox. Unlike regular games there aren't any predefined aims or goals. They give you the tools and leave you to play. You spawn objects and weld them together to create your own contraptions, whether that's a car, a rocket, a catapult or something that doesn't have a name yet, that's up to you. If you're not too great at construction, don't worry! You can place a variety of characters in silly positions. You can also download mods like death run, prop hunt, Trouble in terrorist town, murder, a doom remake, Doctor who and many more!

Best Part

In my opinion the best part of Garry's mod is Deathrun. In this gamemode you either play as a runner or an activator. The job of the runners is to avoid all the traps that the activator sets of. If you dodge all the traps you will end up at the end of the course. There you will have a choice of three maps where you will duel the activator. The activators job is very simple. They just have to set of the traps in attempt to kill all the runners.

Worst Part  

I think the worst part of garry's mod is just some of the people who play it. They are either super nice and friendly, or really annoying and childish. In Garry's mod there are two types of people. The mature, understanding and friendly ones, or the obnoxious six year olds who scream, cry, and get yelled at by not only the community, but also by their parents. Now, some of the squeakers can be very friendly and nice but the majority are absolute morons.

Opinion

For the opinion part of this review, I believe that this game is one of the best releases of its time. With the great graphics and the updated physics engine, I would give this game a 8/10. The only downsides of this game is sometimes you get matched up with a 9 year old from Russia who wont stop yelling and doesn't speak english so you cant tell him to be quiet. Another downside is small, but important to me. in games like deathrun, when you die, you have to wait for 5 minutes until everyone is dead. Then you also have the afk person who makes the game go on for another 5 minutes.
